“How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” -Annie Dillard
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that the average workday for full-time employees is 8.5 hours. That’s 42.5 hours a week or 2,210 hours a year. That’s a lot of hours to be unhappy.
In one month, the U.S. workforce works about 3.9 BILLION hours in total.
It’s estimated that we spend about 30%, or 90,000 hours, in our lifetime- WORKING.
Do you feel stuck at work?
Have you been in the SAME role or job for too long?
Do you hate your job, or even mildly dislike it?
Do you feel bored at work?
Do you feel that your work has been overlooked?
We all deserve a job that we love. Not like, LOVE. I mean it. Some people talk about a “great job” they’d love to have- like it’s some sort of impossible pipe dream. Some say, “it shouldn’t be that way”. I’m here to say: It ISN’T. It isn’t that way. At all. Great jobs we love and are passionate about- are within reach for ALL of us.
The truth is: to get different results, we often need to DO different things. And, those “different things” might be difficult. But, if you’re willing to do a few new things, I guarantee that you’ll have different results.
Finding your way with regard to your career in and of itself- is DIFFICULT. It’s sometimes hard to know why you’re not progressing, and getting awesome, solid feedback from your boss isn’t always a given. In fact, some bosses don’t give much feedback at all (and that’s tough- which is why I chose to get into leadership myself). But, even in the absence of a great boss, constant feedback, and you being on some clearly defined path to success- you can still figure out and learn what it IS that you WANT to do, can’t WAIT to do, LOVE to do. And you can go do it. That’s right, we can help you get the job of your dreams and start moving toward something in your professional life that is really, really meaningful- to YOU.
You don’t have to wait anymore for that promotion or next opportunity. You don’t have to live a life where you’re bored Monday-Friday and look forward to the weekend all week long. You don’t have to despise going to work. You can and should feel invigorated by your work. It doesn’t matter what degrees you have, or if there’s a hundred more seasoned people ahead of you in line for that next big spot. We, together, can figure out a game plan for you to turn that 30% of your life into a fun, rewarding, bright spot- not that thing you can’t wait to get away from 2 days each week.
If you’re feeling bored, stuck, or unsure about what’s next for you professionally, let’s schedule some time to talk and figure out how to make work like play, since it’s where you spend a third of your life.
