Some of the best advice I ever got came from my father. It was my first day of kindergarten. I was only 5 years old. But I’ll never forget what he said to me as I was getting out of the car.
I realized, years later, that the only reason my father was ABLE to give me that advice was that he learned it the hard way. My father spent much of his life, filled with regret, for his own past mistakes and failures in this space.
That made this advice so much more meaningful.
